Abstract

This research studies the effect of two advanced antenna technologies (i.e., Massive MIMO and Beamforming) on spectral efficiency performance in urban cellular communications with frequency-selective fading. We investigate by theoretical modeling and verification of simulation the benefit from these technologies in reducing multipath fading and improving the data throughput. To elaborate our approach, we consider different traffic models: user distributions, mobility patterns and interference management techniques in simulation experiments. Simulation results show that our system brings more spectral efficiency, less latency, and reduced jitter than the conventional MIMO systems. Conclusion and sensitivity analysis conclude model adaptation to changing system parameters with robustness. The observations…demonstrate the effectiveness of sophisticated antenna technologies in enhancing spectral efficiency and overall performance in urban cellular networks. This work adds to other efforts worldwide to address the communication limitations posed by dense urban settings, thereby improving wireless networking capabilities in such environments.
