Abstract
Solar-powered electric vehicles (SPEV’s) represent a promising innovation at the intersection of renewable energy and sustainable transportation. This paper provides a comprehensive review of SPEVs, exploring their technological underpinnings, potential benefits, and challenges to widespread adoption. The core components of SPEVs, including solar panel technology, battery systems, and energy management strategies. The environmental advantages of SPEVs are examined, highlighting their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate dependence on fossil fuels, and contribute to a cleaner energy future. Analyze the economic viability of SPEVs, considering factors such as production costs, consumer affordability, and government incentives. Drawing upon real-world case studies of prominent SPEV projects and models, identify key success factors and lessons learned. A comparative analysis with conventional electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles provides insights into the relative strengths and weaknesses of each technology. The paper concludes with a forward- looking perspective on the future of SPEVs, emphasizing their potential impact on the automotive and energy sectors, and highlighting the technological advancements and policy initiatives needed to accelerate their integration into mainstream transportation systems.
