Abstract

This paper describes an evolutionary visualization method that performs edge bundling during the execution of the genetic algorithm. There are several node layout algorithms and edge bundling, however, there are no methods considering both algorithms simultaneously. This paper proposes an algorithm to optimize the fitness function of GABEB, which is genetic algorithm-based edge bundling, and Zhang’s node layout simultaneously. The experiments for the sample graphs show the improved result from the viewpoints of several evaluation criteria.
