Abstract

Autonomous driving has the potential of reducing traffic accidents, and object detection plays a key role. This paper focuses on the study of object detection in the presence of lens flare. We analyze the impact of lens flare on object detection in autonomous driving tasks and propose a lens flare adaptation method based on Bayesian reasoning theory to optimize existing object detection models. This allows us to adjust the detection scores to re-rank the detections of detection models based on the intensity of lens flare and achieve a higher average precision. Furthermore, this method only requires simple modifications based on the detection results of the existing object detection models, making it easier to deploy on existing devices.
