Abstract

The ambulatory electrocardiogram (AECG) can be acquired and transmitted through mobile and wireless technologies and devices to foster heart’s telemonitoring anytime, anywhere. This sort of service is purposeful when combined with ECG analysis systems and infrastructural support for providing context-aware services. Such setting makes efficient emergency services possible as well as improves the support to physician’s decision making. This paper presents an ECG XML-based markup language that extends ECG reference standards in order to cover patient’s heart telemonitoring during his/her daily activities. The ECG data format we propose is then applied in a real scenario.
