Abstract

Chinese Politeness Principle, a politeness principal proposed by GuYueguo. Thisarticle takes as an example the application Chinese Politeness Principle in Sitcom the Lohas Family. We used conversation analysis to understand how they interact with each other using the five maxims which GuYueguo defines that pragmatics and politeness as cultural characteristics.
