Abstract

This study compared the effects of ChatGPT feedback and written correction feedback (WCF) in L2 Writing, explored learners' perception and use of ChatGPT feedback, and proposed suggestions on how teachers can design teaching intervention strategies to achieve ecological complementarity between the two. The study found that ChatGPT performed well in terms of language form accuracy but had limitations in terms of content organization effectiveness. Learners' use of ChatGPT feedback has shifted from tool dependence to cognitive autonomy but still faces challenges. The role of teachers needs to change from feedback leaders to managers of "human-computer collaboration". This study constructed the Human-Machine-Environment Triadic Interaction Model and four-dimensional action framework and provides specific operational suggestions, which provides theoretical guidance and operational suggestions for L2 Writing teaching.
