Abstract

Here we discuss the role of haptic technology in social interaction. We report the first steps of a project where we want to study the use of a non-visual tactile-auditory device to connect physically distant individuals engaged in non-intimate activities. First, we report the result of a survey to investigate the significance of touch in social interactions. Second, we detail the analysis of touch in some tv shows.
