Abstract

This research explores Parenting Style in Gayo’s Family. Using qualitative methods, 11 respondents are interviewed and observed their family interaction. Results show that the Gayo’s Children parenting style is influenced by their traditions and culture. In Gayo’s system, boys are given an important place, because boys are hereditary descendants and noble titles.
