Abstract

This paper discusses the development of views on Indonesia maritime from the perspective of security theory. This article sees that the view of the maritime world is still very much dominated by the traditional view of security which emphasises military threats to Indonesian territory. The dominance of such views to a certain degree has ruled out the importance of aspects of non-traditional security threats such as the security of the marine environment and sea sources and has also made a lack of attention to the development of marine resources for a long time
