Abstract

Projects may face several problems that can cause failures, delays or budget overruns. Such problems are not restricted to SMEs but they can be very harmful or even fatal for SMEs due to their limited size, maturity or resources. PRIMa-Q aims at helping SMEs to better manage such risks in complex digitalisation contexts including Industry 4.0. Through an agile approach directly involving companies from the manufacturing and IT sectors, the project is developing practical methods and tool support to help SMEs identifying the occurrences of risks, quantifying them and anticipating their consequences as much as possible. It is able to deal with complex contexts involving multiple projects, shared resources and presence of uncertainty through the combined use of data analytics and optimization techniques. Finally, interfaces and guidelines for integration within the existing company environment are also provided.
