Abstract

The complexity issued from information seeking requires providing end-users with tools in order to obtain relevant information from heterogeneous sources and organize these pieces of information in an understandable and a coherent way. Aggregated search is a new information retrieval paradigm that aims to gather information from different sources and present them in a single interface. In this paper, we study the different aggregation techniques used in this information retrieval context and attempt to determine suitable use situation for each aggregation technique.
