Abstract

Numerous reasons for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system acquisitions in organizations have been proposed in the prior research. In this paper these different reasons for ERP system acquisitions are synthesized and categorized into technological and business reasons. Further, the prevalence of the different reasons is explored with an empirical data concerning the ERP acquisition in 41 Finnish companies.
