Abstract: Geometry is one part of mathematics that is considered to be difficult, because students cannot relate to the concept of geometry and apply the concept. One of the base subjects of geometry on junior high school is quadrilateral. Based on the indicator of mathematical concepts by Kilpatrick, it was shown that the ability to understand the mathematical concept of the quadrilateral was low. Therefore, there is a need to analysis junior high school student’s error to understanding the mathematical concepts in quadrilateral. The study aims to provide information related to student constraints in understanding the mathematical concepts of the quadrilateral. The results indicated that the largest percentage of constraints were in the concept (29.36%) and conclusion error (40.37%). Meanwhile, most students made mistakes on indicators presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representations (16.51%) and indicators using algorithm-related concepts (23.85%).
