Abstract: Badran Village in Yogyakarta isknown as the village of hoodlums. The negative public image has led to a public initiative in collaboration with PT. The objective of this research was to find out how the children-friendly village was realized through the CSR program. Primary and secondarydata were gathered in Badran using purposive and snowballsampling. The resultsshowed that CSR program named RumahSrikandi in Badran Village was focused on three : improving the quality of maternal and children health, improving the quality of early age children education, and improvingBadran’s micro-economy. This research employed a structural functional approach to examining the process of theCSR with reference to Grounded Theory. It concludes that a CSR program can transformthe image of Badran from “the frightening” to a children-friendly village.
