Abstract: Introduction: EPCs have a role in the process of re-endothelialization and neovasculogenesis in patients with coronary heart disease. However, the number of EPCs will be decreased in patients with stable angina pectoris along with the emergence of risk factors. Garlic extract can increase the number of EPCs by enhancing its proliferation and improve the progression of coronary heart disease.Material and Methods: Cultured EPCs from stable angina pectoris patients were treated with 50 mg/mL of garlic extract. Before and after treatment, EPCs were quantified using MTT proliferation assays.Results: The quantity of EPC was significantly higher in the garlic extract group compared to control group (0.281 ± 0.008 vs. 0.194 ± 0.151 p<0.05). Conclusion: Garlic extract enhanced the proliferation and colonization of EPCs in patients with chronic stable angina pectoris
