Abstract:
The article deals with the application of modern IT-technologies in agriculture and breeding work with
cattle. The applied software use makes it possible to formalize the procedures for selecting animals for
subsequent breeding, taking into account wide variety of factors, reduces labor costs for data processing,
reduces the errors possibility associated with human factor. The study purpose is to study existing software
products related to breeding work and identify promising areas for their improvement. The main problem
identified with the existing software is poor integration with each other. This prevents the creation of single
information center for collection, analysis, storage and control of data on the livestock population, the need
for which has not yet been recognized by government agencies within the country. Without this unified
system, a qualitative analysis, control and improvement of indicators for selection and breeding work is
impossible. The information cent
er will make it possible to assess the breeding value for each animal
without exception; identify animals: register, centrally issue ear tags and transponders, issue and send
documents on the origin and identification of animals, register and process reports on the birth, movement
of animals; creation of online access to the central database of animal breeding from all PCs and mobile
devices. The creation of Information System that communicates with the software for selection and breeding
work in animal husbandry will increase the transparency of the industry, improve economic performance,
and subsequently integrate breeding animals into the global systems of VIT, InterBull, etc.
