Foreword: Service Oriented Architecture, Model Driven Development, Software Verification and Validation and Information Value Management, are four emerging research fields and have been receiving a lot of attention in the recent years. New approaches on these four areas can bring many benefits to the development of enterprise information systems (EIS): distribution, flexibility, interoperability, data semantics, mobility and adaptability. Nevertheless, these emerging fields pose new promising challenges to the research community. Some of the current challenges in the service orientation field are service modeling & BPM, SOA and mobility, SOA & Cloud Computing; in the model driven development field they are mapping, matching and transformation techniques, Domain Specific Languages (DSL) and models at runtime ; in software verification and validation the challenges are Software architecture, Safety critical systems and finally in information value management the issues are information risk management, managing data and Information quality, capturing and maintaining information assets. This volume contains the Proceedings of the 2nd International Workshop on Recent Trends in SOA Based Information Systems - RTSOABIS 2011, 3rd International Workshop on Future Trends of Model-Driven Development - FTMDD 2011, the Proceedings of the 1st International Workshop on Information Value Management - IVM 2011 and the Proceedings of the 9th International Workshop on Modeling, Simulation, Verification and Validation of Enterprise Information Systems - MSVVEIS 2011. These workshops aim at serving as a forum for researchers and practitioners to meet and share expertise in the fields of service oriented architecture, model driven development, software verification and validation and information value management. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the chairs of RTSOABIS 2011, FTMDD 2011, IVM 2011 and MSVVEIS 2011 for their efforts and hard work in organizing these workshops. We would also like to thank the members of the RTSOABIS 2011, FTMDD 2011, IVM 2011 and MSVVEIS 2011 program Committees for the great job they did in reviewing the submitted papers. All papers published in this proceeding were subject to a double-blind peer-review process. Finally we thank the authors for their valuable contributions and wish them a successful continuation in their research. We wish all organisers, authors and attendees an exciting and fruitful workshop, and a very pleasant stay in the wonderful city of BEIJING. (More)
