Foreword: DEAN FACULTY OF LAW On behalf of the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), I would like to extend a heartiest welcome to all of you, presenters and participants to the International Law Conference 2018 (i-NLAC2018). We are blessed to be granted this opportunity to organize this prestigious conference. This conference is a timely event, bringing together the global community enriching the field of law, with the central theme ‘Law, Technology and the Imperative of Change in the 21st Century’. Indeed, technology has linked its way into just about every facet of human lifestyles including the field of law. I do hope that everyone will benefit from this conference and will bring forth new perspectives in your respective area of research. We are deeply honoured by the unwavering support and assistance rendered by our co-hosts, Fakultas Hukum Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Asian International Arbitration Center (AIAC), Western Sydney University and Fakultas Hukum, Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD). I am confident that this collaboration will continue and we look forward to future collaboration and cooperation. On that note, thank you to all for your participation and attendance. Faced with rapid changes and development of technology in the 21st century, the world has evolved at a tremendous pace. This requires the law to have the same evolvement capacity thus making this conference a significant platform to accumulate ideas, extending collaboration and putting forward valuable suggestions to update the existing laws. I hope that the meetings, discussions and networking during this conference will enrich and further strengthen our commitment to improve the role of law in addressing challenges in the 21st century. I would like to thank the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Rahmat Mohamad for his trust in appointing me as the Director of this conference, and my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the committee members and other Faculty members who have worked hard to make this conference a reality and a success.
