Preface
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to The 2nd International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This annual international conference intended to offer researchers in the medical and health field who are interested in tropical medicine and infectious disease with the theme “From Community to Healthcare Environments: Infectious Disease Control and Management in Sustainable Development Goals Era”, an opportunity to get together to share their ideas, research results, and to explore collaborations.
We are happy to say that we received overwhelming contributions and enthusiastic supports for this conference. About 100 papers were received, the number is particularly high considering the short history of our conference. We are certainly delighted with the number of contributions from our keynote speakers from Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia, as well as the many other supporting sponsors who
supported the international conference. We also like to thank all the committees that have worked so hard to make this conference a success.
We would also like to thank all the participants, without your participation and support, the conference would not have been possible. We hope you will find this conference rewarding and your stay here in Medan enjoyable. We hope this conference can provide precious information, mainly in the medical and health field, especially in tropical medicine and infectious disease. Greetings,
The 2nd International Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases (ICTROMI) 2019 was motivated by the quality of research and development relating to the tropical medicine and infectious diseases in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. we urged to improve and update our knowledge and skills, as well as to collaborate with colleagues from other fields.
The 1st ICTROMI was held on November, 15-18th 2017 hosted by Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara in conjunction with the Indonesian Society of Tropical and Infectious Diseasess Consultant (ISTIC) 23rd National Congress, with the theme “Tropical and Infectious Diesease: Prediction, Prevention, Diagnosis, and Management of Illnesses”.
The 2nd ICTROMI was held on July, 5-6th 2019, by Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara that compassed inter-ulti-transdisciplinary forum in the field of tropical medicine and infectious diseases with special theme “Infectious Diseases Control and Management in Sustainable Development Goals Era”. Furthermore, application of evidence based medicine and management of the infections is another important aspect to improve population and individual health status. This conference also in collaboration with The 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (PIT XVII PERDOSKI) which was held in Medan on 21 – 24 August 2019,
The purpose of this conference were: (1) to bring together the scientist, researcher, health practitioner, doctors, student, and all academic community representatives in the scientific forum. (2) to share and to discuss theoretical and practical knowledge about innovation in health sciences and research. Specifically this conference can be used as a scientific forum for accommodating discussionamong young researchers in the field of health sciences and researcher. Therefore the speakers in this conference were researchers that are well-known and reputable in the world.
Finally, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to all of the presenters for their valuable contributions and also to themembers of the program committee for their excellent works in selecting abstracts and organizing the program.

Dear Speakers and Participants of The 2nd International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease (ICTROMI) 2019
We held this two days international conference, during these days we have shared knowledge or our research that can be used to better action in medical and health problems as our themes which is “From Community to Healthcare Environments: Infectious Disease Control and Management in Sustainable Development Goals Era” and generally in the world. I hope that when we come home we will ask ourself the question how ourself can contribute towards that, especially in tropical and infectious problems.
During these days we all shared together a good overview of handling tropical medicine and infectious diseases, the state of the art in medical health in tropical country today and I am sure that you will bring good information. I also hope FACULTY OF MEDICINE UNIVERSITAS SUMATERA UTARA, would gained new knowledge and ideas that will help us in the future.
This conference also in collaboration with The 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (PIT XVII PERDOSKI) which was held in Medan on 21 – 24 August 2019, that contribute in many research to expand. We do appreciate it and hope we can continue in the future for more experience in research area.
