Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Finance, Economics, Management and IT Business (FEMIB 2020) which was organized and sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). This year FEMIB was, exceptionally, held as a web-based event, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, from 5 - 6 May. The conference was held in cooperation with the International Health Economics Association and the European Association for Research on Service. We hope that these proceedings, which include areas like “Accounting and Finance”, “Economics”, “Management”, “IT Business” and “Emerging Areas in FEMIB” are interesting to a global audience of engineers, scientists and business people interested in the research topics of FEMIB. We believe the proceedings published demonstrate new and innovative solutions, and highlight challenging technical problems in each field. FEMIB received 29 paper submissions from 21 countries. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in FEMIB topic areas. Based on the classifications provided, 8 papers were selected as full papers. The conference was complemented with a special session entitled “Blockchain Applications – Blockchain” (chaired by Patricia Baudier and Mitra Arami). We are proud to inform you that the program included also 3 plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely – Alon Halevy (Facebook AI, United States), Kecheng Liu (The University of Reading, United Kingdom) and Fred Phillips (University of New Mexico, United States). These talks contribute to increase the overall quality of the conference and to provide a deeper understanding of the conference interest fields. The number and high quality of the papers received imposed difficult choices in the reviewing process. Each paper was reviewed by at least, two reviewers. Based on those reviews, papers that adequately balanced quality, originality and relevance to the conference themes were selected. The proceedings of FEMIB will be submitted for indexation by DBLP, Thomson-Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index, EI, SCOPUS, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar. A short list of papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in a special issue of one of the following publications: International Journal of Organizational and Collective Intelligence (IJOCI), Expert Systems and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. All presented papers will be available at the SCITEPRESS digital library. Papers on Blockchain topics, submitted as abstracts to the Special Session on Blockchain Applications, and presented at the conference, were able to submit to the Journal of Innovation, Economics and Management (JIEM). In such case, only the abstract was published in the conference Book of Abstracts. To recognize the best submissions, awards based on the best combined marks of paper reviews, as assessed by the Program Committee, and the quality of the presentation, as evaluated by the chairs during the conference, were conferred at the closing session of the conference. As a final point, we would like to express our thanks, first of all, to the authors of the technical papers, whose work and dedication made possible to put together a program that we believe is very exciting and of high technical quality. Next, we would like to thank all the members of the program committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and time. We would also like to thank the invited speakers for their invaluable contribution and for sharing their vision in their talks. Finally, we acknowledge the professional support of the FEMIB 2020 team for all organizational processes, especially given the need to introduce online streaming, forum management, direct messaging facilitation and other web-based activities in order to make it possible for FEMIB 2020 authors to present their work and share ideas with colleagues in spite of the logistic difficulties caused by the current pandemic situation. We wish you all an inspiring conference and we hope to meet you again next year for FEMIB 2021, details of which will soon be available at http://www.femib.scitevents.org/ (More)
