Foreword: This book contains the abstract and the final program of the 4th International Conference on Information Systems Security and Privacy (ICISSP 2018) which was organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). ICISSP 2018 is held in cooperation with Associação Portuguesa para a Promoção da Segurança da Informação (APDSI), Associação para a Promoção e Desenvolvimento da Sociedade da Informação (AP2SI) and the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council). The Conference Program included oral presentations (full papers and short papers) and posters, organized in 17 technical sessions. We are proud to inform you that the program included also two plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely – Ross Anderson (University of Cambridge, United Kingdom) and David Jacoby (Kaspersky Lab, Sweden). ICISSP 2018 received 71 paper submissions from 25 countries, in all continents. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in ICISSP topic areas. From these, 15 papers were selected for publication and presentation at the Conference as full papers. These numbers, leading to a full-paper acceptance ratio of 21%, show the intention of preserving a high-quality forum for this conference, a quality that we intend to maintain in the future, for the next editions of this conference. A short list of papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in the CCIS (Communications in Computer and Information Science) Series book by Springer. All papers presented at this conference will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. Conferences are also meeting places where collaboration projects can emerge from social contacts amongst the participants. Therefore, in order to promote the development of research and professional networks the conference includes in its social program a Conference Social Event & Banquet in the evening of January 23, 2018. We would like to express our thanks to all the people who contributed to ICISSP 2018. First of all to the authors, whose quality work has been essential for this conference; secondly to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the secretariat: organizing a conference of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable team. We wish you all an inspiring conference and an unforgettable stay in the lovely city of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. We hope to meet you again next year for ICISSP 2019, details of which will soon be available at http://www.icissp.org. (More)
