Abstract

Annotations have become a major trend in Augmented Reality (AR), as they are a powerful way of offering users more information about the real world surrounding them. There are many contributions showing ad hoc tools for annotation purposes, which make use of this type of virtual information. However, there are very few works that have tried to theorize on this subject to propose a generalized work system that solves the problem of incompatibility between applications. In this work, we propose and develop not only a taxonomy, but also a data model that seek to define the general characteristics that any AR annotation must incorporate. With this, we intend to provide a framework that can be used in the development of any system that makes use of this type of virtual elements.
