DCT based Multi Exposure Image Fusion

Abstract

We propose a novel algorithm for multi-exposure fusion (MEF). This algorithm decomposes image patches with the DCT transform. Coefficients from patches with different exposure are combined. The luminance and chrominance of the different images are fused separately. Details of the fused image are finally enhanced as a post-processing. Experiments with several data sets show that the proposed algorithm performs better than state-of-the-art.
