Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) has the tenth highest death rate of all the diseases in the world. Based on WHO data in 2016, the incidence of tuberculosis reached 10.4 million cases. To achieve the target of the SDGs, the government has implemented a global strategy of DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short-course). The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the DOTS strategy to achieve the target of SDGs in 2030. This research is a systematic review which uses a meta-analytical approach. This systematic review is conducted in articles published in the BMC Public Health journal from 2013 to 2017. The search terms or keywords used are "Directly Observed Treatment Short" or "Directly Observed Treatment Short Method" or "Tuberculosis" or "Tuberculosis Control". The number of articles obtained after the screening process based on the inclusion criteria is as many as 40 articles. Global Assessment shows that the achievement of TB reduction in the world will not reach 50% by 2015 relative to 1990. This assessment is based on indirect estimates using the ratio and estimated cases of the incidence of death through TB.
