Abstract

Al-Aqsa Mosque is at the heart of the Palestinian cause, According to international law, Al-Aqsa Mosque is occupied by Israel. Israel closed Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time in 1969. The second time was in 2017. The Palestinian people revolted in the city of East Jerusalem. An important method of resisting the Israeli action was the local and international media monitoring and communicating the event directly. The media reported the reality to the Arab and international communities, which supported the Palestinian people and Al-Aqsa Mosque in protests and demonstrations against its closure. The Palestinian youth became carriers of the event in terms of social communication, as everyone who has a communication device can be a journalist and news carrier. The impact of video and audio on the event was strong among the Arab and Islamic people, where social networking sites were used as tools for transmitting the event, including Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. As an example of the demonstrations that took place, the Indonesian people staged large demonstrations in Jakarta and other Indonesian cities in support of the Palestinian people and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli reaction to the influence of local and international media was the use of force to prevent the media from communicating events, correspondence, arrests, beatings, and abuse; reporters were also shot at. Palestinian and Arab media offices were closed. The Israeli side gambled on the weakness of the Palestinian cause in the Arab and international circles as a result of regional and international events, especially with the presence of unrest within Arab countries such as Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Libya. In conclusion, the Arab and Islamic people have proven that the Palestinian cause and Al-Aqsa Mosque are at the heart of the Arab and Islamic nations.
