Abstract

The development of physical infrastructure is believed to reduce the number of inequality among regions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the income inequality that occurred in four districts on the island of Madura with the city of Surabaya after the construction of Suramadu Bridge. The calculation of inequality in this study using Gini Ratio. The result after the construction of bridge Suaramadu gini ratio in the period 2010-2012 in four districts of Madura Island namely Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep and Surabaya fluctuate. Not much different from the conditions before the construction of Suramadu Bridge in 2003-2009. After the construction of Suramadu Bridge, Surabaya still has better economic advantage compared to Madura Island.
