Abstract

In this paper, we are interested in the requirements engineering of decision support systems. In particular, we propose a method, called Analytic Requirements Generation Method (ARGeM), for automatic generation of analytic requirements. Our method meets the strategic goals of the enterprise and produces loadable DW schemas. It begins with modeling the goals of the enterprise and uses the UML IS modeling artifacts to generate automatically a complete set of candidate analytic needs. These needs are, subsequently validated by the decision makers who are thus directly involved in the specification process. Once validated, needs contribute to the design of the DW.
