FORMAL MODELING FOR DEPLOYING IMPROVEMENT AND INNOVATION IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

In this paper, we show the importance of building precise models of basic concepts before conducting strategic information technology improvement and innovation. We use the notions of distinction and definition to build precise models. Our modelling approach mixes both natural language and mathematical definitions, to reach the appropriate level of precision. This modelling approach constitutes a form of knowledge management similar to approaches like enterprise architecture, but focusing on modelling the impacts of a given technology innovation and conducting projects in a more agile style.
