Abstract

The authors present an idea of construction, modelling and simulation studies of a new generation, mechatronical wheelchair. The wheelchair is meant to drive on various surfaces. Its important feature is the possibility to overcome obstacles, such as a doorstep of max. 220 mm. The construction model and simulation studies were carried out in the environment of MBS ADAMS package. An algorithm of controlling the process of overcoming the doorstep was proposed and an analysis of parametrical sensitivity of the construction was performed.
