Abstract

In the era of industrial revolution 4.0, there were many aspects of life affected by this revolution, including education. In this study social movements that focus on education are at the core of this research. The purpose of this study is to examine whether social movements can use the concepts or methodologies used in the field of information technology to become a platform for the framework for social movements. The researcher saw the lack of references related to the use of information technology methology in the field of social movements. In this study using the blockchain as a concept that became a reference for social movements namely the Fun School Movement which focuses on the world of education because at this time there are many uses of the blockchain concept in various fields, apart from finance, there are also health and energy fields that have been used the concept of blockchain and also the growth of communities that use the concept of blockchain which is very fast and easy to spread, such as for example bitcoin. The Fun School Movement (GSM) is a reference to be a case study in this study because the growth of this movement is quite fast and this movement provides flexibility with the lack of the role of government for teachers to make their schools a pleasant school for students who attend school. This social movement has several similarities with the blockchain from the aspect of flexibility or their freedom to make social changes. This movement does not rely on government to carry out social change, this social movement relies on the trust and transparency of followers of this social movement to make it widespread.
