Abstract

In this paper, we present a lightweight runtime monitoring system for Multi Robot Systems, intended to supervise and identify the state of a team of robots. It integrates the Nagios IT monitoring tool and the ROS robotic middleware without any additional software at the robot side. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed monitoring system has a negligible performance impact on the robot, and the monitoring server can easily support hundreds or even thousands of monitored robots.
