Abstract

This study explores the role of the arena or domain in the low representation of women in the 2014 Legislative Election in Wonosobo. It identifies the obstacles women face, the support of political parties, the political atmosphere before the election, the support of constituents and the factors that caused the failure of women candidates in the 2014 Legislative Elections. The results show that the lack of representation of women is caused by patriarchal culture and lack of nomination of women legislative candidates in the interest of political parties to complete the Zipper system requirements through KPU Regulations. The problems is also about money politics or political transactions in the absence of strict sanctions by authorized institutions.
