Abstract

Degradation of eyesight is a serious problem, and the number of weak-sighted people is increasing rapidly in recent years because of the spread of tablets and smart phones. The weak-sighted people often wear glasses and contact lenses for recovering their eyesight. However, these rectification devises are painful for weak-sighted people. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel method for displaying visual information for weak-sighted people to see rectified images on displays. In particular, we show that visual illusions in human vision system can be used efficiently for correcting the eyesight. By using our method, weak-sighted people can see clear images on the display without wearing glasses and contact lenses. The efficiency of the proposed method is tested by using synthetic signals and real images.
