Abstract

In this paper, a novel wavelet image measurement scheme is developed inspired by the Haar wavelet oversampling. It is equivalent to the dyadic Haar wavelet decomposition, but has a simpler hardware implementation architecture. It contains three basis patterns and one fixed selection template, which enables parallel computations. The measurement scheme is verified by simulation results and a hardware implementation is proposed. This measurement scheme records the difference of neighboring pixels, which is independent of illumination conditions.
