Abstract

The difficulty of finding information on the Web grows and this even for the most experts of us. In order to better understand how the Net surfers search, we observed five adults and four children. Two different protocols of observation, both presenting imposed and free searches, were defined for the children and the adults. Thus, we have defined a certain number of behaviours, attitudes and difficulties, and then we classified them. The result of these observations as well as the analysis of the behaviours are presented in this paper. The main goal of this paper is to introduce the contribution of Web services in the improvement of information access and Web searching.
