In this paper, we investigated the application of trust in an e-Commerce system. In a B2C scenario of an e-Commerce system, a game model is proposed in order to investigate the best strategies for merchants and customers. Preliminary investigation outlines the benefits of trust information in the proposed game and preliminary results, conducted on a transactional database, shows an increased value of sensitivity of provided recommendations to the customers, entailing an higher customer loyalty. Future works are aimed at validating this findings by means of a larger real dataset.

Digital contents are often designed having desktop applications as target in mind. As MobileWeb is becoming a common means to access internet services, there is a need for adapting content to smaller displays of mobile devices. Adaptation of web pages should be in accordance with aesthetics and usability requirements. In this paper we propose a tool, based on genetic algorithm, able to assist designers in delivering content adapted to mobile devices. In particular the tool, starting from a given page, searches for alternative layouts in order to best fit the content to reduced target screen size. The result is a set of adapted web pages. Experimental results show this approach is feasible and can compete with design made by humans.

Graphical User Interfaces heavily rely on menus to access application functionalities. Therefore designing properly menus poses relevant usability issues to face. Indeed, trading off between semantic preferences and usability makes this task not so easy to be performed. Meta-heuristics represent a promising approach in assisting designers to specify menu layouts. In this paper, we propose a preliminary experience in adopting Genetic Programming as a natural means for evolving a menu hierarchy towards optimal structure.

Filling out a form on mobile devices is generally harder than on other terminals, due to the reduced keyboard and display size, entailing a higher fatigue and limiting the user experience. A solution to this problem can be based on reducing the input effort required to the user by auto-completion, and re-organizing the fields in order to provide first those with a higher prediction power. In this paper we assume to be able to predict the user input and we optimize the fields layout aiming at reducing on average the input actions.
