Abstract

Overhauser magnetometer with the advantages of high sensitivity and low power consumption is widely used in different fields. As an important part of the system, the sensor is responsible for the performance of the whole system. In this paper, the influences of sensor orientation on the performance of Overhauser magnetometer are investigated. The Larmor signal and the system sensitivity have been measured and analyzed when sensor in different directions. The experimental results show that the JOM-3 magnetometer sensor has no dead zone but poor omnidirection. Factors affected directivity of the sensor are discussed in this paper.
