Abstract

Software development is a complex and unpredictable activity. The idea of using knowledge from previous software processes can be a good idea to improve the quality of future executions. The aim of this work is to propose a software process improvement architecture named OntoComplex, which helps software managers in decision making about software projects. Among the technologies used in OntoComplex we highlight the use of ontologies and complex networks, associated with a provenance data model (ProvONE). By monitoring and analyzing process execution data using these technologies, we can extract implicit knowledge that can help project managers to make decisions. An initial evaluation of OntoComplex was conducted using data from a Brazilian medium size software company.
