The Formal Model of Structure-Independent Databases

Abstract

In this paper we’d like to propose a formal model of structure-independent databases. This formal model allows to describe and implement not only different SIDB that are implemented on relational technology, but also the tools of working with them. Model contains set of relations and operations which are basic and can be supplemented depending on the characteristics and requirements of implementation. To provide the flexibility structure-independent databases presupposes manipulation of data and metadata structures.
