Abstract

Complex spatial analysis requires the combination of heterogeneous datasets. However the identification of a dataset of interest is not a trivial task. Users need to review metadata records in order to select the most suitable datasets. We propose the implementation of a system for metadata management based on semantic web technologies. Our implementation helps the user with the selection task. In this paper, we present a CSW that uses a triplestore as its metadata repository. We implement a translator between Filter Encoding and SPARQL/GeoSPARQL in order to comply to basic OGC standards. Our results are promising however, this is a novel field with room for improvement.
