Abstract

To date, typical process modelling approaches put a strong emphasis on behavioural aspects of business operations. However, they often neglect value-related information. Yet, such information is of key importance to strategic decision-making, for instance in the context of process re-engineering. In this paper we propose a value-oriented approach to business process modelling that facilitates managerial decision-making in the context of process re-design based on concepts and metrics from financial and operations management..
