Abstract

Large global companies are increasing looking towards information systems to standardize business processes and enhance decision making across their operations in different countries. In particular these companies are implementing enterprise resource planning systems to provide this standardization. This paper is a review of literature which focuses on the use of ERP systems to support global operations. There are many technological and cultural challenges facing these implementations. However a major challenge faced by companies is the balance between centralization and localization.
