Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Information Systems Security and Privacy (ICISSP 2022), which was organized and sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). ICISSP 2022 was held in cooperation with the IEEE SMC – TC on Homeland Security, the Associação Portuguesa para a Promoção da Segurança da Informação (AP2SI), ISACA Lisbon Chapter, and the Trusted Computing Group. Due to the exceptional situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, ICISSP has run entirely in remote and adopted online format, from 9 - 11 of February. The Conference Program included oral presentations (full papers and short papers) and posters, organized in different technical sessions. We are proud to announce that the program also included plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely: Awais Rashid (University of Bristol, United Kingdom), Pierangela Samarati (Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy), and Norman Sadeh (Carnegie Mellon University, United States). ICISSP 2022 received 107 paper submissions from 32 countries. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in ICISSP topic areas. From these, 25 papers were selected for publication and presentation at the Conference as full papers. These numbers, leading to a full-paper acceptance ratio of 23%, show the intention of preserving a high-quality forum for this conference, that we intend to maintain for the next editions of this conference. A short list of papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in the CCIS (Communications in Computer and Information Science) Series book by Springer. Moreover, a short list of presented papers will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in a special issue of the Springer Nature Computer Science journal. All papers presented at this conference will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. The Conference was also held in conjunction with the 6th International Special Session on FORmal methods for Security Engineering (ForSE 2022), which contributed to the community with oral presentations, which have also been included in the proceedings book. We would like to express our thanks to everyone who contributed to ICISSP 2022. First of all to the authors, whose quality work has been essential for this conference; secondly to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, we gratefully acknowledge the professional support of the INSTICC team for all organizational processes, that make it possible for ICISSP 2022 authors to present their work and share ideas with colleagues in spite of the logistic difficulties caused by the current pandemic situation.
