Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Information Systems Security and Privacy (ICISSP 2016) which was organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). ICISSP 2016 is sponsored by INSTICC and held in cooperation with ISRA, EEMA, Trusted Computing Group, CSA – Cloud Security Alliance, AIPSI, ISSA, Gesellschaft für Informatik and technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE SMC. The Conference Program includes oral presentations (full papers and short papers) and posters, organized in eight technical sessions. We are proud to inform that the program includes also three plenary keynote lectures, given by internationally distinguished researchers, namely – Jason Hong (Carnegie Mellon University, United States), Hans-J. Lenz (Freie Universitat Berlin, Germany) and Edgar Weippl (SBA Research / TU Wien, Austria). ICISSP 2016 received 91 paper submissions from 27 countries, in all continents. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members are highly qualified researchers in ICISSP topic areas. Based on the classifications provided, only 46 papers were selected for oral presentation (18 full papers and 28 short papers) and 21 papers were selected for poster presentation. The full paper acceptance ratio was 20%. This strict acceptance ratio shows the intention to preserve the high quality of this event, which we expect to improve even further in the years to come. A short list of papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in the CCIS (Communications in Computer and Information Science) Series book by Springer-Verlag. All papers presented at this conference will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. Conferences are also meeting places where collaboration projects can emerge from social contacts amongst the participants. Therefore, in order to promote the development of research and professional networks the conference includes in its social program a Conference Social Event & Banquet in the evening of February 20, 2016. We would like to express our thanks to all the people who contributed to ICISSP 2016. First of all to the authors, whose quality work has been essential for this conference; secondly to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the secretariat: organizing a conference of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable team.
