Abstract: This paper addresses issues stemming from children’s use of new media. The new media have rules and conditions that select and sort the contents according to the children’s age. However, social media services tend to allow individuals to register new accounts without thorough verification of the user’s identity. Using cyber-media analysis methods that look at the text and context, this study surveyed children in elementary school in Solo who had a Facebook account, and examines the impact on children from the emergence of fake identity, deception and cyber bullying behavior.
