Abstract: This case study discusses the application of communication networks with all-channel pattern for women authors and the need to adapt to the work environment in the publishing industry. Interviews were conducted with informants experienced in publishing textbooks, popular non-text scientific books, and children-teen books in Jakarta. The main theories used are organizational communication, organizational network, and muted group. The study concludes that women authors can get more out of muted groups by using an all-channel pattern through social networking during the work process. The research implication is social networking positively impacts on women authors and promotes women authors’ awareness in adopting gender perspectives to better identify the cultural norms in the publishing industry.
