Abstract:
In this paper, we describe a practical and effective approach to incorporating goal-based reasoning into ontology-driven applications. We present a reusable ontology-driven planning framework that could be used for such a purpose, and provide detailed examples on how ontology-driven application designers can use this framework to describe their planning problems, translate them into equivalent rule-based programs, execute them on a planner, and get back the results. Several interesting practicality challenges are discussed, and
practical solutions are also proposed.
