Abstract: Many companies have invested in the process of testing to improve the test team's performance. Although Testing Maturity Models aim at tackling this issue, they are unpopular among the many of the highly competitive and innovative companies because they encourage displacing the true goals of the mission of “achieving a higher maturity level”. Moreover, they generally have the effect of blinding an organization to the most effective use of its resources, as they focus only on satisfying the requirements of the model. This article defines the Balanced Testing Scorecard (BTSC) model. This aims to evaluate and improve the test team’s performance. The model, based on Balanced Scorecard and Testing Maturity Models, is capable of aligning clients’ and financial objectives with testing maturity goals in order to improve the test team's performance and client’s performance. The model was based on and developed from the specialized literature and was applied in a software testing house as a ca se study. (More)
