Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to present an appraoch for assessing similarity between ontolgies. This approach is based on set theory, edges-based semantic similarity and features based similarity. We first determine the set of concepts that is shared by two ontologies and the sets of concepts that are different from them. Then we extend ontologies by using the set of concepts shared by the two ontologies. Then we redetermine set of concepts shared by the two extended ontologies. finally, we end with the assessment of the similarity between ontologies by using the average values of similarity of the sets of specific concepts to each not extended ontologies, and the set of concepts shared by extended ontologies.
